Among others, the works of Harriet Beecher Stowe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Dickens, and Louisa May Alcott were published here. Ah, the birthplace of The Scarlet Letter and Uncle Tom’s Cabin…now home of the burrito.
