Excellent discussion of his views on women.  I am fascinated by your summary of pageant history, and I wonder if Miss America is more palatable to us because we see racier images of women and girls literally everywhere.  Maybe her ratings have declined not just because she is an anachronism but also because she&#039;s not sensational anymore.  The talent segment is a lot like American Idol.  We are accustomed to gazing at evening-gown clad celebrities on blogs and in tabloids.  Thanks to MTV, we can&#039;t turn on the TV without seeing women in bikinis.  So many pieces of the pageant have been borrowed by other cultural outlets.
